PHILADELPHIA, PA – April 28, 2022 – Customized Energy Solutions (CES) has been awarded a Bronze Stevie^® Award in the Energy Industry Innovation of the Year category of The 20^th Annual American Business Awards^® for the critical behind-the-scenes role it played in enabling a first-of-its-kind residential frequency regulation program in New England.

The frequency regulation program allows households with Tesla Powerwalls to share stored energy with regional grid operator ISO-New England (ISO-NE) to keep a steady, regulated flow of energy on the grid, a critical function for regional system safety and reliability for customers. To make this type of program possible, massive amounts of data must be transmitted between the energy supplier, Tesla, and ISO-NE within seconds to properly respond to real time market signals. These key integrations between all three parties had never been attempted in the U.S. prior to this project and were enabled by CES’s software and consulting services.
